The ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) 33rd International Conference on Ocean, Offshore and Arctic Engineering took place recently in San Francisco, California. The goal of the conference is to promote scientific understanding and international cooperation for exchange of technical information within the offshore community. The conference featured more than 965 reviewed papers.
Chelsea Drenick (MMI Oakland) presented her paper “The effect of wind data resolution on the predicted energy generation of an offshore wind farm”, which was co-authored by Dan Dolan and Dr. Ian Prowell of MMI Oakland. Dan Dolan also chaired a session on wind energy at the same conference, which focused on offshore floating wind turbines, and particularly the understanding of loads on turbines.
